Angkor Wat

This city-temple — so is translated the name — is the greatest religious building in the world. The building has been constructed during the period about 1112-52 in honour of a Buddhist deity. The central tower in height of 55 metres is surrounded by stone galleries (length of 800 metres) and frescos on religious themes.
